About
Let’s talk about the name first, as let’s face it, it’s a weird name for a web copywriting business.
Nisaba was a Sumerian goddess of writing, teaching and knowledge. She was scribe to the gods, and apparently the Sumerian scribes thought she was ace. So ace in fact that they wrote “Nisaba be praised” at the end of lots of clay tablets.
So what on earth does that have to do with a geeky writer in Somerset, England?
Well, the writing thing is obvious enough, but what really excites me about Nisaba is that she was the one who helped people find and record the knowledge they needed. Whether gods or mortals needed her, she was there, ready to help, giving words and knowledge when they were needed most.
And that’s exactly what I want to be for you and your business. Your Nisaba. The one who gives you the knowledge, and the words you need to make your business shine online.
I’m not for a moment saying I’m a goddess, far from it, but what I am is someone you can call upon for words and for knowledge. I want to work with your company on a long-term basis, giving your business the right words, at the right time, in the right places to make sure the right people see you at the moment they are looking for your business.
About the mere mortal behind Your Nisaba
Since graduating with an honours degree in Psychology from Oxford University, I have been a usability consultant, information architect, psychology teacher, search engine optimisation consultant, online marketing consultant and a designer dressmaker. But don’t worry about the last one; that was just something I did for a while after university whilst I was figuring out what to do with my life.
The vein of gold that runs through my entire life is writing. I started writing stories at the age of four and never stopped. It took another twenty six years to find a way to earn a living from writing that didn’t involve being an evil journalist, or… horror of horrors, a junk mail campaign writer. So here I am now, making a living from words and not being evil. Yay!
I still write fiction for pleasure, and I have recently signed a contract to have my debut novel published in 2010. You can read about that at www.enewman.co.uk if you’re interested. In the mean time, let’s concentrate on writing juicy content that can pump some life back into your website.
What would you like to do next?
Let’s talk! Yay – here’s everything you need to do that.
Tell me more about what you can do for my business. That’ll be my services then…
What have your clients said about you? Am I any good you mean? Well, see what they said about me here.
Can I see some samples of your work? You mean apart from this site and my writing blog? Sure, try this place first. I wrote everything you see on the site, the blog, the e-book and all marketing materials relating to the Prom Organiser.
What on earth is a usability consultant – and an information architect for that matter – and why should I care? Ah, let me explain that here.
So your business is named after a goddess…. good grief, are you some kind of hippy? I can answer that one here: no.
